St Austell 24:26 St Ives

A cold, but mostly dry Easter Saturday greeted the teams and supporters for the Cornwall Cup semi-final at Tregorrick Park this afternoon., on this the third time of asking. St Austell had been involved in Intermediate Cup and league postponements on the other dates originally set.

After sailing into a 14:0 lead early on, both attacks in the red zone, The Hakes were well in control. An unfortunate error at the restart was c...

Chard 10 v 19 St Ives

Last weekend the St Ives 1st XV took the long trip to Somerset side Chard for their latest Western Counties West League game. The Hakes travelled knowing that the 7 points needed to confirm them as league champions were out of reach unless other results went their way.

The game began with Chard having all the early territory and they kept St Ives pinned back in their own half for long periods. Their pressure was rewarded with...

Saturday, March 24, 2018

St Ives have taken four points away from home at Chard to earn another win on the road. However, it seems that today this is so much more than just another win in a magnificent, history making season. With three more games to play they are sixteen points ahead. Second placed St Austell went to Falmouth in a must win game, but the Eagles managed to hold the Saints to a 12-12 draw. Meanwhile, Devonport Services again lost at home to south Devon riv...

St Ives 52 v 24 Burnham

Last Saturday St Ives welcomed the team at the bottom of the Western Counties West league, Burnham on Sea to Alexandra Road. There were few changes in the home squad. Ben Taylor started with Rob Elloway on the bench. Simliarly, Sean Stevens swapped with Cameron Bone. Full back berth was taken by Lewis Thomas from Joe Parma. Noteably, The Hakes have used only 75% of the number of players used in the previous two seasons; 32...

Truro 13 v St Ives 38

Last Saturday St Ives travelled to Truro for their latest Western Counties West League game.  Back in the side for this game was Harry Parton in the second row, but other than that the side was mostly unchanged from the win over Torquay a fortnight ago.

With the weather improved over the last few days and the snow cleared it was game on at Truro and when the match kicked off the players and spectators were treated to warm suns...

Friday, March 2, 2018

Head coaches Paul Thirlby and Rob Elloway have announced a strong squad to tackle their visit to local rivals Truro tomorrow.

Truro have not had a happy time of it in 2018, with four loses, two of which were at home. Two games in February brought a partial return to form with an away win at Falmouth and a home draw against Paignton 31:31.

St Ives recorded a 41:19 victory over Truro early in November, the first game of their magnificent run of wins....
