Cameron from Camborne for Hakes

New signing for the back row

The Hakes management are really pleased to announce they have secured the signature of Cameron Bone from Camborne RFC within the past 48 hrs. Cameron is 27 years and plays at open or blind side flanker. He officially joined the Hakes on 29th September 2015. His previous playing career was with Camborne, for Juniors, Colts and senior squad.

Last year Cameron was selected in the County Championship Squad but never took part due to the birth of his new baby.

Cameron spoke highly of the support provided by Camborne and said he had taken a few months considering the move. Cameron approached the club and r

ealised that this week an opportunity has presented itself and Cameron felt the move would help him in his quest to re-join the Cornwall squad this coming campaign and join an enthusiastic squad preparing for a real enjoyable journey in the current league campaign.

Cameron understands that this move does not guarantee him first team rugby. That is something which is hard earned. But the structure and coaching staff available at the club may help him progress and develop on a personal level and this in turn will help the club move in the right direction. Cameron brings with him a wealth of playing experience and physicality in the back row.

St Ives Director of Rugby Joff ROWE was delighted with the opportunity to sign Cameron. “This week was a difficult week in relation to the back row and unavailability of a number of them and with Cameron showing interest in the move Paul Thirlby and I decide to get him on board sooner rather than later.”

Paul THIRLBY head coach stated he was excited about the signing. “Cameron will add strength to the back row and will complement the other group of lads competing for the starting positions.”

The club have found themselves in a difficult position this week with no open side available for the Newquay match and at the same time Cameron made contact to open up dialogue with Paul and Joff to discuss him joining the club.
