Due to the hard work of Tyler Gendall, Joel Ninnes & Tony Stevens to name but a few!!!

Saint Ives RFC is rising from the ashes!

We have had a number of friendly games now and the atmosphere at the club is fantastic and really positive.

In order to maintain and increase this momentum it has been decided that there will be no requirement to pay membership this season or to pay on the gate to watch home games!

If you have already paid your membership...

It was with regret that the committee of St Ives RFC recently received a letter of resignation from Joff Rowe regarding his position as Director of Rugby. Respecting his wishes, we felt that we had no choice but to accept it.

Joff returned to his boyhood club as unpaid Director of Rugby after a disastrous season where the 1st XV had been relegated, and had been unable to fulfil fixtures.

Through his deep knowledge of the game and hard work, he put...

Gents

It is with a heavy heart that I break the news that the game this weekend will not go ahead.

We are missing front row cover, second rows and have a handful of injuries which those players should not be taking to the field.

I have a duty to worry about player safety and of course the history of the club.

This is the right decision.

I apologise for the issues that seem to have come from nowhere in May and have dramatically escalated over the past...

Chew Valley 89 v 14 St Ives

St Ives began their 2019/20 South West One West campaign with a long away trip to Chew Valley near Bristol. Spirits were high on the team bus on the long journey up the M5, but when the game kicked off the Hakes were brought back to the reality of South West One West rugby with a bump.

Newly promoted Chew Valley made the perfect start with a converted try after only 7 minutes. They swiftly added another before the Hakes...

Good afternoon one and all

Just a little update to put a stop to the rumours that may be floating around the rugby circuit.

I would like to put the record straight and say like many clubs at the moment St Ives RFC are struggling for players and have at times throughout pre season failed to raise a side for their trial matches.

However the club has made every effort to continue with rugby and I would like to put out a request for any new or old...

St Ives 26 v 30 Wadebridge Camels

On Good Friday at Redruth RFC the final of the Cornwall Knockout Cup was played between last year’s winners St Ives and Wadebridge Camels in a replay of last year’s final which was won by St Ives by a single point.

The match was played in good spirits and was an entertaining spectacle as the lead changed hands several times before the final whistle.

St Ives kicked themselves into an early lead through the boot of Gr...

Cullompton 38 v 48 St Ives

St Ives travelled to Devon side Cullompton for their final South West One West league game last Saturday. The Hakes travelled with a strong squad welcoming back Peter Mabbott and Lewis Vinnicombe from injury.

It was Cullompton who made the better start but in bizarre fashion. They were awarded a penalty kick when St Ives was caught offside. The kick fell short, but the St Ives players did not react and the Cullompton play...

The annual awards presentation for the senior part of the club took place on Saturday 6th April. St Ives gained a bonus point victory in their final home match of the season against Hornets.  This was followed by a hog roast and, in the early evening, the presentations were made.

The club recognises that once a trophy, cup, shield or bowl is returned by the recipient, there is no lasting memento of the award received.  Therefore, recipients from 2...
