We are so pleased to announce we have been awarded £11,235 of National Lottery funding from Sport England for our programmes to improve pathways for women and girls, thanks to the Movement Fund.

šŸ‰ What is Sport England’s Movement Fund?

The Movement FundĀ is a major Sport England initiative investing over Ā£20 million each yearĀ of National Lottery and government money into grassroots sport and physical activity. Its purpose is simple: to help more people move more often, with a strong focus on tackling long‑standing inequalities in participation.

In April 2024, Sport England redesigned its funding system to make applying easier and to prioritise communities with the greatest need. The Movement Fund is now the single entry point for most small‑scale community sport funding.

šŸŽÆ What the Movement Fund Supports

Sport England funds projects that increase physical activity, especially among people who face barriers such as gender inequality, low income, disability, ethnicity‑related barriers, or limited local opportunities.

Eligible projects include:

  • Creating new activity sessions or pathways – such as beginner programmes, development squads, or targeted outreach.
