Paignton game off

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the match at Paignton tomorrow is cancelled due to a waterlogged pitch. This is a disappointing start to the second half of the season, especially since the match preview was about to be published, with St Ives able to field another strong line up. That will be saved as a draft ready for whenever it does happen. It happened so often during my tenure as a PE teacher.

Training will continue as usual next Tuesday and Thursday. Meanwhile, your webmaster hopes this precipitation is falling as snow in The Alps.

Thank you for your interest in the new website. I am delighted that there have been well over 5000 hits since a counter was added in mid September. Please keep following The Hakes, whether here or on Facebook.

The next home game is on Saturday 9th January against Honiton. It may be wet and windy up at The Rec most of the time, but it's unlikely that we will be flooded!

The club has come a long way in the second half of 2015. I am sure you join me in wishing players, officials and supporters a healthy and happy New Year.
