St Ives captain, Ben Taylor and second row, Todd Prisk, have had a busy few days. After helping to secure promotion for The Hakes through the defeat of Plymstock Albion Oaks last Saturday, the two forwards were again taking the field. On Tuesday evening they represented Cornwall in this year’s Tamar Cup. Cornwall were convincing winners by 45 points to 10 on a cold night more usual in the depths of winter. Congratulations to both players.

An enthusiastic crowd of over one thousand cheered on the Cornish team to a comprehensive victory at Tregorrick Park, St Austell. This match formed the curtain raiser for the upcoming County Championships. Cornwall has a tough group stage with the following fixtures:

  • Saturday 7 May Cornwall v Gloucestershire at Redruth RFC

  • Saturday 14 May Hertfordshire v Cornwall at Bishops Stortford RFC

  • Saturday 21 May Cornwall v Surrey at Camborne RFC
