Tragic Loss of Peter Skeggs
It is with deepest regret that we must announce the death of young Peter Skeggs.
Peter, a member of St Ives RFC for many years, will be sadly missed. He had a very bright future ahead of him on and off the rugby field.
Having made his debut for the Hakes in the 2015/16 promotion season, Peter was a much liked member of the squad. The announcement to the squad last night was a shock to say the least. It is fair to say this season will definitely be one dedicated to... Peter. He will always be in our hearts and a member of our Hakes Family; Once a Hake always a Hake.
Thoughts go out to family and friends at this very sad time. As soon as we know any further information about a service for Peter we will be sure to let people know.
The Hakes had their first game of the season at Penryn RFC on Friday 11th August, which was a very emotional game for the team, as one might expect. In a wet windy fixture, the Hakes managed a win by two tries to one.
A minute’s silence was held before the game in memory of Peter and will be repeated when the Hakes have their first home game of the season. Peter. He will always be in our hearts and a member of our Hakes Family. Once a Hake always a Hake.
