Grant Thirlby
Hakes Team to Face Eagles
StartFragment
Saturday brings the return of Western Counties Rugby, with the Hakes travelling to newly promoted Falmouth for what will be a very tough encounter.
This is the first of 3 Cornish derbies in 3 weeks for the Hakes. This will be the first time these two teams have played each other for two seasons, when the Hakes gained promotion from Cornwall and Devon. That year Falmouth were one of the few teams to defeat the Hakes. St Ives will definitely feel as though they have a score to settle.
The Hakes have a new look front row this season with Benjamin Taylor moving to prop to partner two new signings Ex Pirates hooker Rob Elloway and Leigh Hocking, who has impressed in pre season and has signed from Camborne.
In the second row two stalwarts of the club Jamie Prisk and Jamie Hoskin.
The back row has a very familiar feel to it with Cameron Bone back from Camborne, He joins Sean Stevens and Martyn Lawrance.
In the Backs Carter is at 9 and he partners the experienced Paul Thirlby at fly half. Steve Kenward leads out the side as newly named Captain this season and he is joined in the centre by Tom Nicholas. The back three consists of Mabbott, Jolly and Hakes new signing Rhys Brownfield. Rhys is another summer signing who will be making his league debut with St Ives.
On the bench there is plenty of impact with Ben Jenkins, Tom Chandler and Harry Parton.
