A fantastic day for St Ives Rugby Club at Finals Day in Launceston on Sunday 31st May.
Our Second XV gave everything in the Shield Final, losing 29–14 to Falmouth, a First XV side who compete a league above. A tremendous effort and a fitting way to round off an outstanding season for our Mighty 2’s. Congratulations to Falmouth on the win.
The First XV capped off the day in style, winning the CRFU Tribute Cornwall Cup, running out as 35–5 winners against a strong Truro side. The boys were dominant throughout, never trailing on the scoreboard, and delivered an excellent team performance from 1 to 15, with the replacements making a huge impact when called upon.
Congratulations to Man of the Match Jack Kessell, who crossed for two tries in a superb display.
A wonderful day in the sunshine and a great occasion for everyone involved with St Ives Rugby Club. Two full squads in their respective finals, what a day for St Ives RFC.
