Round up for Saturday 19th February

While the Six Nations took a week off on a very stormy weekend, St Ives also had a break in their fixtures. The top of the table match away to second place Redruth was postponed due the conditions. St Ives now await the visit of Bodmin on Saturday 26th February, who benefitted from a HWO against Camborne School of Mines. At the bottom of the table St Austell II acquired their first victory with a bonus point win against Illogan Park. The Hakes are now in possession of their own destiny with a game in hand. While their early encounters afforded no bonus points, the five straight victories place at the top of the table.

Current Cornwall Kernow League Group 1 Table

Of the four groups in the CKL Group 2 is the only one to have fulfilled all its fixtures. Group 1 has had two walkovers, Group 3 has suffered four and Group 4 a total of six. There is no question that this system is working well for the development of the game in St Ives.

Training numbers remain encouragingly high on both Tuesday and Thursday evenings. DoR Jamie Prisk recently enthused over the attitude and approach of his youthful squad many of whom are St Ives men. He should return to the squad himself after a two match ban. Kick off will be at 2:30pm. Six Nations rugby will be available along with excellent food and drink in the clubhouse this Saturday.
