Tiverton Return to St Ives

Ninnes & Thirlby make a break in the Oct '17 win

Tiverton come to the Recreation Ground for the first time since October 2017 when St IVes won by 31:17 during a season in which they became champions of Western Counties West. Four players survive from that match for The Hakes: Sean Stevens, Jamie Prisk, Joel Stevens, Grant Thirlby and Jacob Ninnes.

However, it is Tiverton who have shown consistenct in the leagues. They have maintained a mid table position in the WCW since 2014-15 and carried this into Counties 1 Western West last year when they finished 5th.

St Ives will hope to continue their home advantage against their opponents. They have won the last six encounters. One has to go back to the last century when Tiverton inflicted a heavy defeat on the homw side when both were in South West 2 West.

St Ives will be hoping to build on their home form after the loss at Tavistock last Saturday. The return of Matt Burrell at scrum half should add pace to the attack. Chris Patterson is at centre with Adam Harris starting on the wing. Will Perkin should come off the bench to make his first appearance of the season.

Tiverton are currently placed 8th in the league with 10pts from two homes wins and two away loses. St Ives with an extra bonus point have a similar record. This should be a very competitive match up.
