Five Figures in Charity Match

Saturday 7th May brought the fourth annual charity rugby match between the Penzance branch of the RNLI and Penzance Fire Station, although players were co-opted from where so 'ere they were available and willing to have a run out for the benefit of the spectators and the charities.

Four Hakes players took the field and Russell Baragwanath volunteered as team physio. I believe that the RNLI usually win these matches. The Fire Fighters were keen to reverse this trend and fashioned a run away victory by 55 points to 14.

Tom Nicholas, Lewis Thomas, Ben Taylor and Sam Carter all played their part and enjoyed plenty of opportunities to move the ball around and make plenty big metres.

Well done to them and all those who helped raise money for such excellent causes.
