Club Captain & Vice Captains

The Hakes are excited to announce the leadership team for the upcoming 2024/25 rugby season. Leading from the front as captain will be Chris Warren, with Will Perkin and Jacob Ninnes serving as vice captains.

Captain Chris Warren

Chris Warren, our talismanic back row forward, will take the helm as captain for the 2024/25 season. Chris ended last season as captain, earning the respect and admiration of his teammates and coaches alike. Known for his relentless work rate and ability to inspire those around him, Chris is a natural leader who prefers to let his performance on the field do the talking. His commitment and passion for the game make him the perfect choice to lead The Hakes as we aim for success this season.

Vice Captains Will Perkin and Jacob Ninnes

Supporting Chris in his leadership role will be vice captains Will Perkin and Jacob Ninnes.

Jacob Ninnes, a dynamic and dangerous running back, returns to a leadership position after a challenging season sidelined by injury. Jacob has previously captained The Hakes and brings a wealth of experience and a renewed vigor to the team. His ability to break through defenses and create scoring opportunities will be crucial as he helps guide the squad alongside Chris.

Will Perkin, a promising young forward, rounds out our leadership trio. Despite his youth, Will has already demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities, having captained both the Cornwall U20 and South West U20 teams. Breaking into the first team just two years ago, Will has gone from strength to strength, establishing himself as a key player with immense potential. His leadership skills and on-field intelligence will be invaluable as he steps into this new role.

With Chris, Jacob, and Will at the helm, The Hakes are poised for a strong and competitive season. Their combined experience, leadership, and passion for the game will undoubtedly drive the team to new heights.

1st Team Coaching Group

We are thrilled to introduce the Hakes’ new coaching team for the 2024/25 season!

Director of Rugby: Jimmy Stevens

Jimmy has been an integral part of our coaching staff for the past two seasons as an assistant coach. With his extensive experience and professionalism from his years in professional rugby, Jimmy brings a wealth of knowledge to his new role. We are excited to see the impact he will have on the team.

Forwards Coach: Hayden King

After a 12-month hiatus from rugby, Hayden returns with a rich background from his time with the Cornish Pirates and Bedford Blues. His professional experience is a fantastic addition to our coaching staff, and we are eager to see the improvements he will bring to our forward pack.

Backs Coaches: Adam Harris and Jacob Ninnes

Adam, formerly the head coach and a longtime player for the club, brings invaluable insights and expertise to our backline coaching. Jacob, a senior player with extensive experience working with various coaches at the club, offers deep knowledge and leadership for our backline. Together, they form a dynamic duo poised to elevate our backline performance.

Second Team Managers: Gareth Tudor and John Trewhella

We are also excited to announce the new management team for our second team. Current player Gareth Tudor and ex-player John Trewhella will be taking the reins. Their combined experience and passion for the club promise to bring great leadership and success to the second team.
