This weekend the club has made four new signings, welcomed by DoR Jimmy Stevens.

Morgan Harvey

The first of our new signing announcements today is Morgan Harvey! Morgan Kelynack Harvey is a 23 year old who is equally happy at centre or back row.

Morgan joins us from St Just, and previously played for the Pirates youth section as well as representing Cornwall at age group level. He is one of 3 signings to be announced today, who like to call themselves the 3 cousins of Newlyn.

Joshua Tonkin

We are excited to welcome 21-year-old Joshua Tonkin to the team! A robust and talented back row player, Joshua brings strength and agility to our forward pack, making him a valuable asset for the upcoming season.

Joshua also joins us from St Just, where he had an impressive season, and has also honed his skills with Pirates Youths. His dedication and hard work on the field are sure to make a significant impact. We’re thrilled to have Joshua on board and look forward to seeing him thrive with the Hakes!

Jack Keogh

We are thrilled to announce our latest signing, Jack Keogh! Jack, an exciting 19-year-old talent, is versatile on the field, primarily playing at 10 or 12 but equally comfortable on the wing.

Jack is the third in a trio of signings from St Just and has previously played with Jersey Reds and Wadebridge. He has been a part of the renowned Truro College academy system and has represented Cornwall at both U18 and U20 levels.

Notably, Jack played alongside fellow Hake, Will Perkin, for the U20s. Unfortunately, he missed out on a Southwest trial this year due to being on holiday. Jack is the second of the three cousins from Newlyn. We are excited to see Jack bring his skills and energy to our team!

Daniel Rhys Evans

We are thrilled to announce the signing of 24-year-old Daniel-Rhys Evans! Versatile and dynamic, Daniel excels both on the wing and as a fullback or fly-half. Known for his electrifying runs and keen sense of the game, he promises to be a significant addition to our squad.

Daniel joins us from local rivals Pirates Amateurs and has proudly represented Penwith College and Cornwall at age group levels.

The Evans family is no stranger to the Hakes. Daniel’s father, Steve “Evo” Evans, has been a formidable opponent with Mounts Bay and has both coached and played for the Hakes. We’re excited to welcome the next generation of the Evans family to our team!
